What is the difference between torque and horsepower?
Torque is rotational force - how hard the engine can push. Horsepower is power - how fast that force can be applied. Torque gets you moving; horsepower keeps you accelerating. They are related by engine speed (RPM).
Why do curves cross at 5252 RPM?
This is a mathematical artifact of the formula HP = Torque × RPM / 5252. At exactly 5252 RPM, horsepower and torque values are numerically equal. Below 5252, torque is higher; above, horsepower is higher.
What is the difference between HP, kW, and PS?
HP (horsepower) is the Imperial unit. PS (Pferdestärke) is the metric horsepower used in Europe. kW (kilowatt) is the SI standard. 1 HP = 0.746 kW = 1.014 PS. They all measure the same thing in different units.
What is wheel HP vs crank HP?
