  Julian and Baha'i dates do not map one-to-one — the two systems start from different epochs and count leap years differently, so enter the full Julian date and read the Baha'i equivalent instead of shifting the year by a fixed offset.

  Watch century boundaries and very old dates in the Julian–Baha'i system: historical calendars dropped or added days when they were adopted, which is invisible in daily use but material for long-range historical calculations here.

  Time zones can move a Julian–Baha'i date by a full day around midnight: today in one zone is still yesterday or tomorrow in another, so anchor the calculation to the zone your event actually follows before you enter anything.

• Reversing the direction is a silent trap: converting from the Baha'i calendar back to the Julian calendar needs the inverse relation, and off-by-one errors cluster at month boundaries where the systems disagree. Verify the round trip returns your original date.

• Epoch offsets are pair-specific: day zero of Julian and of Baha'i are different dates, and constants borrowed from another calendar pair are silently wrong by days or years. Use the Julian → Baha'i relation itself, not a remembered number.
