AliExpress Review Credibility Proxy — Is “97% Positive” Real?
Paste an AliExpress product link and see what the rating number actually proves: a 95% statistical confidence interval for the true positive rate given the
Figures are estimates from this calculator’s standard formula — adjust the inputs in the tool below for your exact number.
How the Review Credibility Proxy works
A “97% positive” figure cannot be read apart from its sample size: 100% from 5 orders could truly mean anything from ~57% to 100%, while 97% from 5,000 orders means 96%–98%. We compute a 95% Wilson confidence interval for the true positive rate from the two fields our partner API provides: the positive-feedback rate and the sales volume. We then compare the rate with the typical platform norm (~96%): below it means less-satisfied buyers, while a “perfect” 99.5%+ is not always reassuring — incentivised reviews push the number to unnatural levels. Finally we check the incentive pattern: a near-perfect rating + a ≥60% discount + hundreds of orders — a combination seen in listings that farm their reviews. The result is a transparent estimate, not a reading of review text (which we cannot access at all).
Use Cases
A new listing showing “100% positive” on a handful of orders — see what that number actually proves.
A deep-discount listing with a near-perfect rating — check before you rush.
Comparing two versions of the same product: which rating number is statistically stronger.
Common Mistakes
Believing a high rate from a small number of orders guarantees quality.
Assuming “99.9% positive” is always better than 97% — an overly perfect number can signal paid reviews.
Relying on the rating alone, ignoring the order volume or the realism of the discount.
