Driveway Area – Surface & Covering Options
Driveway area calculator sizes the surface (single car 3 × 6 m, double 6 × 6 m) and prices gravel, asphalt, concrete and paver covers.
Figures are estimates from this calculator’s standard formula — adjust the inputs in the tool below for your exact number.
How does the driveway area calculator work?
This tool applies the formula Area = Length × Width; Car Slots = Area ÷ 18 m² directly to the measurements you enter, so the result is an exact quantity rather than a rough guess. Because driveway area is priced and delivered per unit - cubic meters, square meters, bags or tonnes - a small measurement error multiplies across the entire order, which is why the calculation is worth doing properly. Worked example: A 25 m driveway, 5 m wide: 125 m² - about 7 car slots or 15 m³ of gravel at 12 cm. One note from practice: Add turning aprons: cars need 6 m clear radius or they tear lawn corners. Enter the driveway length, width and covering type, check the totals, then round up to the nearest whole bag, sheet or roll before you place the order.
