Glazing Area – Daylight & Code Minimums

This tool applies the formula Glazing = Floor Area × 10%; Egress = 0.53 m² clear (38 cm min each side) directly to the measurements you enter, so the result is an exact quantity rather than a rough guess. Because glazing area is priced and delivered per unit - cubic meters, square meters, bags or tonnes - a small measurement error multiplies across the entire order, which is why the calculation is worth doing properly. Worked example: A 16 m² bedroom: 1.6 m² daylight glass - one 1.2 × 1.5 m window covers it with egress to spare. One note from practice: South glass heats, west glass glares - place daylight glass where sun helps.
